Mahindra Reva E2O launch delays, launch early next year

The Mahindra E2O or more popularly known as Mahindra Reva NXR launch has been delayed. Reason: the Indian government is dillydallying the National Electric Mobility Mission 2020. The first most feasible electric car has yet again inches away from its debut. The first tenure of the Reva was not so promising but it did sign that there is a huge potential for electric cars in the country and the daily commuter who remains in the city likes electric car as the most viable option. The new Reva will now be launched sometime early next year. Mahindra is eagerly waiting for the National Electric Mobility Mission 2020 to be announced as soon after the announcement, it will be deciding the final price of the E2O based on the concessions. As per sources information, the Mahindra E2O price is expected to remain around Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.  

Meanwhile, recent reports also suggested that Tata Air car has also entered its second phase in which it will be testing the production version of the same. But this car will take some time to get launched and it could be probably another three years. In the meantime, anticipation also got heels that Tata is also developing the electric car Tata Nano Electric in order to counter Mahindra E2O. Notably, the Tata Nano Diesel and Tata Nano CNG are already in the making and the addition of the electric version will make it a car that is available in all the fuel options.  

Though there is hardly any market for electric cars but there is also absence of any viable electric car and it is believed that if there is one and there is necessary infrastructure in place, electric cars in India could pick up good sales and the day is not far when these cars will be the heartthrob of the cities.
