Mahindra Reva E2O launch pushed to Feb 2014
Last year in Auto Expo, Mahindra showcases it’s all electric hatchback, Mahindra Reva E2O. But it seems like it will have to wait for another month to see light in the Indian car bazaar. According to fresh reports, the car will be launched in February this year. The main reason behind such delay is the big subsidy from Indian governments for the car. However, nothing in detail has been mentioned by the firm so far, but it will soon be announced to the media. As soon as the subsidy thing is solved, Mahindra Reva E2O price tag will also be announced. With the subsidy, the car is expected to be priced around Rs. 5 to 6 lakh. But if in case, there is no subsidy for Reva than the cost of Reva E2O will definitely shoot up pretty high.

This electric hatchback is almost ready and is passing through its regulatory clearances. Once the government announces the subsidy officially, Reva’s production will commence at Mahindra’s Bangalore plant. Talking about technicalities of the car, Mahindra Reva E2O will be powered by lithium ion batteries, which would allow the car to deliver a 100km run up in single change. The top speed of the car is expected to be around 105 kmph. This four-seater hatchback will also feature some basic comfort features that would make the car perfect for consumers.

Currently, the electric car is targeting the big cities of India only. As soon as the reception of the car is received positive, Mahindra has big plans to export this small electric wonder to other countries as well. in the global market, Reva E2O doesn’t have much competition, the only strong contender for it is the Nissan Leaf electric hatchback, which created some much of buzz in the interiors market as soon as it was introduced.
