Mahindra Starts The Delivery Of Thar, Delivers Thar #1 To The Winner

Finally, after a long wait domestic carmaker, Mahindra & Mahindra raised the curtain from the suspense about the winner of Mahindra Thar #1 auction, initiated before the delivery of its highly awaited SUV Thar launched on October 2, 2020. According to the sources of Mahindra & Mahindra, the highest bid was made by Mr Aakash Minda, CEO, Minda Corporation, who placed the bid of Rs. 1.11 crore, the highest bid among 5,500 bids received from more than 500 places within the country.
Addressing the occasion Mr Veejay Nakra, CEO, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said, "I would like to congratulate Aakash Minda, as the very first owner of the All-New Thar. This is a historic moment, given the excitement the auction had created. The all-new Thar is a dynamic expression of fun, freedom and independence and will surely make a personalized statement for its owner".

Receiving the delivery of Thar #1 auction, Mr Aakash Minda said, "I am truly excited to own this much-coveted Thar #1 and contribute to a relevant cause. I would like to thank Mahindra for all the personalised touches in my Thar #1 and making it even more special. Afterall owning the Thar #1 is not just about possession but an emotion that makes it special."
 
As the winner of the auction was offered the facility of selecting the trim of his choice, Mr Minda selected the Mystic Copper painted LX petrol automatic version of Thar. The Thar #1 was delivered by Mr Satinder Bajwa, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Customer Care, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. The trim auctioned has been optimized with Thar #1 badge followed by a customized badge with the signature of the recipient and serial number 1 on the front plate of the dashboard and leather seats.
 
The Thar #1 auction was initiated to raise funds for the charitable organizations working to support the control of COIVD-19 extension. The bidder winning the bid was given an option of selecting an NGO among three NGO’  for donating the funds received from the auction. Interestingly, Mr.Minda selected the Swades Foundation to which the management of Mahindra & Mahindra donated the amount of Rs. 2.22 crore.
