Mahindra Thar Adventure Edition launched
Domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the special edition of its muscular SUV Thar codenamed as Mahindra Thar Adventure Edition in Indian car market. The Adventure Edition has been introduced only in CRDe version of SUV and receives various cosmetic changes followed by introduction of Java Brown Color which could be considered as the major attraction of this edition. Mechanically the SUV is empowered with 2.5 litre CRDe diesel engine that boosts the power of 103 bhp and torque of 247 Nm. The SUV is offered with five speed manual gear transmission system.
Moving towards the cosmetic changes offered in Thar Adventure Edition, besides introduction of Java Brown Color the SUV has been upgraded with new seat covers followed by dual tone color stitching of black and orange combination, protector for tail lamp, chaff screen, new central console, enlarged wheel arches and moulded floor mats. Apart from this the special edition also embellishes 2D map and compass to locate the distance travelled. According to company sources only 30 units of the Thar Adventure Edition would be sold in Indian car market and that also through specific dealers across the country. As far as the price of Thar Adventure Edition is concerned nothing has been disclosed by the company but industry players believe that as an impact of new cosmetic changes the edition may cost Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000 higher than the existing price (Rs. 7.37 lakh ex-showroom price in New Delhi) of CRDe trim.
