Mahindra Thar to be offered with 1.5 litre mHawk Engine
It is reported that domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra is working on bringing the refreshed version of its best selling product Thar in Indian car market sometimes during 2018. An interesting feature of this revitalized version of Thar would be integration of 1.5 litre mHawk diesel engine which is speculated to generate the power of 100 bhp. The existing version of Thar is empowered with 2.5 litre CRDe diesel engine that boosts the power of 104 bhp and torque of 247Nm and mated with five speed manual gear transmission system. The proposed version of Thar will replace the current Thar and is reported to be developed strictly according proposed emission norms and will also deliver improved fuel efficient performance.

It is reported that new Thar will be offered with 4x4 driving option and will bestow contemporary features that will make it the best affordable vehicle in segment. It is speculated to be equipped with ABS and dual front air bags as standard feature. It would however be interested to see that how home grown car maker upgrades the exteriors of Thar because exteriors of existing Thar are highly acclaimed by car enthusiasts of all segments and therefore satisfying everyone with changes on exteriors is going to be challenging task for M&M.

Launched back in 2010 to commemorate the success of MM54 Mahindra Thar has succeeded in making its special position in minds of car lovers with its launch. Last year the vehicle underwent with minute changes comprising of refreshed dashboard and all new seats. On the exteriors it did not made any changes.
