Maruti Alto, Ford Figo and Hyundai i10 are the most searched cars online - Google Report
Maruti Suzuki India, the name that has become synonym of economical cars in the Indian market, has added one more feature in its crown. The company has topped the chart in the recent online vehicle search report released by the search engine giant Google. The brand Maruti closely followed by Japanese Honda and South Korean Toyota, at second and third spots in the list, respectively. The report has been created on the search data from January 2010 to May 2011.

The US based leading car maker General Motors that has recently launched diesel version of its popular hatchback Beat, stood at 4th positing in the vehicle search reports released by Google. While the country’s largest vehicle maker Tata Motors found place at 5th spot in the list, Japanese auto giant Toyota was the sixth most searched car brand at Google in the country.
The car makers who got bottom three places in the list were Ford, Volkswagen and Fiat, at 7th, 8th and 9th spots, respectively.

The Search has also brought-out an interesting fact that the Indian buyers were ahead of their counterparts in Europe and US in using internet to research on cars and Bikes. The Google search report bears high importance as it offers a deep insight of the position of the brand in the market and offers the firms to put efforts in the marketing and advertising, accordingly.

The country’s largest selling small car Alto turned-out the most searched online car followed by Ford Figo hatchback at the second place. Hyundai i10, Maruti Kizashi and Chevrolet Beat models stood at 3rd, 4th and 5th position in the Google search during the above mentioned period. The cars like Nissan Micra, New Hyundai Verna Fluidic, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Etios and Maruti SX4 also found place in the top 10 cars in online search at 6th to 10th place respectively.
The result shows the high price consciousness of the Indian buyers with lesser priced cars grabbing the highest attention online.
