Maruti Swift, Ritz, SX4 recalled in Germany following a minor glitch in the steering

The German model of Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz hatchbacks and the sedan Maruti SX4 have been recalled there following a glitch in the steering assembly. In Germany, the Maruti Ritz of India is known as Maruti Splash and is sold like hotcakes there. Almost all the European models of Maruti have considerably good sales and thus in order to win over the confidence of the car owners, the company has recalled despite of the problem being a minor one and that there is no immediate danger out of it. As per sources, the company will be replacing the defective part free of cost and is a minor maintenance. A total of 826 units of the three of the model year 2011 and 2012 have been recalled there.

As per sources, Maruti found that there is a problem with the steering column and it may not be properly attached to the gear and might come off. This could cause the car to malfunction and may pose danger. Sources in Maruti have revealed that the problem is a minor one and it does not in any way has dangerous consequences. It is a minor glitch and is a small replacement, said one source. Besides, Maruti has not received any complaints from the car owners reporting any inconvenience or any other malfunction or any injuries, accidents due to it. Maruti has asked the car owners to check if their car is being recalled and have also asked them to rush their car to the nearest Maruti car service centre for the repair.

Notably, Maruti Splash (Ritz in India) along with Maruti A-Star, SX4 and Swift are some of the largest selling models in Europe and within no time, the company is able to register its presence quite considerably. Back in India as well Maruti Ritz has been considered as the entry level Maruti diesel car and despite its not so appealing looks it has been accepted quite well just because of diesel model.
