Mercedes Benz car prices to increase from January

New Year will bring in new prices for the Mercedes Benz cars! Mercedes Benz India has officially announced that it will revise all its car prices that will come into effect from January 2013. The major reason behind this hike in price is due to hostile exchange rates, hiked input costs and soaring inflation.Because of huge increase in cost, it has become necessary for Mercedes Benz to elevate the prices of its car models. It was becoming difficult for the firm to absorb all the pressure from the cost escalations. This was the reason given by the MD and CEO of Mercedes Benz India, Mr. Eberhard Kern. He also stated that that some huge investment has been done in India and to maintain the growth of the firm, dealer partners and employees, this revision of prices was essential.

Right now, the firm has the capacity to produce 10000 units per year, where Mercedes Benz E Class, Mercedes Benz C Class, and Mercedes Benz S Class sedan are produced locally. The Mercedes Benz C Class is also being produced in the country itself. The production of M Class began from October 2012. The company has also triggered off its Paint Shop from October 2012, which is said to be technologically advanced and sound. This shop has the capacity of about 20000 units annually.

Merc India has done a whopping investment of Rs. 850 crores at its production unit located in Chakan Pune. Besides this, about Rs. 480 crores are invested by its dealer partners in Mercedes Benz’s network in India. As of now, Mercedes Benz India has a massive network of 72 dealers across 31 cities in India. The exact revised prices of the Mercedes Cars in India will be announced very soon.
