New 1.5 litre petrol engine unveiled by Honda
After showing up lots of details of its much awaited diesel engine, the Japanese car maker is ready with a very fuel efficient 1.5 litre of petrol engine. The new 1.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection technology was recently revealed by Honda India. This engine will be seen in the 2012 Honda Jazz and Honda city sedan. With this one, the fuel economy will take a toll and go up drastically and the performance will also go much higher on the graph. Apparently, the 1.5 litre petrol engine will keep the capacity to churn out peak power of 127BHP along with producing peak torque of 154Nm. When compared to the current 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol motor (118BHP-145Nm), the figures are certainly higher and better. Also, this engine will be coupled with an impressive CVT automatic transmission that will finally replace the standard five speed manual gearbox.
