New Audi A4L to be unleashed soon
China would soon witness facelifted version of the Audi A4 long wheelbase models zipping through its roads, as Audi has decided to launch the car to cash in on the growing luxury car market in the country. The industry sources said that the new Audi A4 L would compete with BMW 3 Series long wheelbase. The BMW launched its BMW 3 Series recently at the Beijing Motor Show. Now, motivated by the BMW’s new version, the Audi too has planned to bring its facelifted version of the A4 long wheelbase model in the market.

The wheelbase is lengthened 4.33 inches for added rear space in BMW Series 3. Besides, the Audi A4 L, which is a joint venture of FAW – Volkswagen, has been stretched by 110mm along its wheelbase. It has been stretched with an aim to provide more space for rear passengers. In China, cars like A4 or 3 Series are all the rage. Following the increased demand of such cars, BMW has already put its efforts to tap the demand by making long-wheelbase model and stretched 5-series exclusively for the Chinese market.

Sources said that the Chinese, who love luxury cars, prefers to by buy those cars which have more leg space for the rear passengers. Now, to oblige the Chinese with lots of leg space, the Audi A4L will be launched soon in the market. The updated 1.8 TFSI engine of the facelifted A4L generates 170hp, up 10 horses. The car would be made available in the bracket of 272,800 Chinese Yuan to 578,100 Chinese Yuan. If talking in rupees terms, it will cost approximately between Rs 23.3 lakh and approx. Rs 49.3 lakh. Sources said Audi is also planning increase the number of dealers in China. It has plans to increase the number from 237 to 400 by 2013.
