New Audi A8 with 4.2 litre diesel variant launching on August 3
Audi, the German premium car maker in India will introduce the new 4.2 litre TDI diesel engine variant for its top luxury saloon Audi A8 on coming 3rd, August, 2012. The A8 being the most expensive car saloon from the car maker in the Indian auto-market competes with saloons like BMW 7 Series and Mercedes Benz S Class.

To be launched on coming 3rd August, the Audi A8 will be equipped with a 4.2 litre V8 turbo diesel in-line that will have enough caliber to churn maximum power of 348 bhp with its amazing peak torque of 800 Nm. Moreover, the power would be transmitted in all four wheels through the Quattro All Wheel Drive System. The engine would be mated by an 8 speed automatic transmission. It is said that this power churning engine will enable this luxury sedan to reach top speed of 250 kmph and it will also have potential to reach 0 – 100 kmph in mere 5 seconds.

The best part about this powerful in-line is its incredible acclaimed fuel efficiency of 13.1 kmpl. The A8 at present comes to Indian auto-market through CBU and it is available in three engine options (1 diesel and 2 petrol) i.e. 3.0litre V6 diesel engine, 4.2 litre FSI turbo petrol engine and 6.3 litre W12 turbo petrol engine. The entry level 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine of A8 churns peak power of 240 bhp with maximum torque of 500 Nm. On the other hand, the 4.2 litre FSI turbo petrol power-train tosses maximum power of 372 bhp with its peak torque being 445 Nm. The most calibrating 6.3 litre W12 turbo petrol engine pumps out phenomenal power of 500 bhp with its peak torque being 625 Nm. Speculations are that auto-major, Audi would slate the price of this new anticipated variant more than 1 Crore rupees. Furthermore, the arriving model Audi A8 would be the enhanced wheelbase model of this car.

Another car launch that will follow the A8 is Hyundai Elantra. The all new Elantra is reported to be launched with stunning exterior and interior design, new features and with higher fuel efficiency promise. This will be the second innings of the car that will commence on 13th August, 2012.
