New BMW 330D Convertible to be launched in India next year

The German auto giant BMW is gearing-up to launch its 330D convertible in the Indian market, where it is number one luxury car seller. Currently the company sells the 3 Series model in a sedan version only. The all new convertible is expected to be showcased at the Delhi International Auto expo 2012 in the month of January, which will be possibly followed by the launch of the car after a few months.

Powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine, the all new BMW 330D convertible will be able to generate a peak power of 245bhp along with a peak torque of 520Nm. The transmission is expected to be blessed with a 7 speed automatic double clutch gearbox along with paddle shifters. The powerful engine unit of the BMW 330D convertible is capable of breaking the sped barriers of 100 km per hour in just 7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 245 km per hour.

The 330D convertible carries a three piece system, and the boot space can be expected to shrink to 140 liters when roof is folded, as compared to the capacity of 350 liters when roof is not folded. The entire operation of folding the roof takes about 22 seconds.

Though the company is yet to disclose the price of the car in the Indian market, but you can expect its price to be on higher side as it will be brought to the Indian market as a CBU (completely built unit). BMW is currently the top car maker in the Indian market followed by its German rivals Mercedes Benz and Audi on second and third spots respectively.
