New Ford Fiesta Classic launched re-christened as Ford Classic
One of the best selling sedan of Ford India, Ford Fiesta Classic will now be known as ‘Ford Classic’. The company has re-launched the car in the country with a new name and has added many contemporary elements at the exteriors and interiors. Besides addition of features, the remarkable aspect by means of rebaging is the reduction of prices across 6 variants of Classic. Now the base petrol and diesel versions are offered at Rs 5.53 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 6.80 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. With these prices it comes into head-to-head with Maruti Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios sedan and Tata Manza.

Earlier, in 2011 with the launch of all-new Ford Fiesta, the company didn’t discontinue the production of old Fiesta but added the name ‘Classic’ to differentiate between the two. The features added to the new sedan at the outer surface comprises of new set of alloy wheels and sporty looking spoiler above the boot along with some minor reworks at the exteriors at frontage. Moreover, the interiors are provided with features such as jet-black plastics with aluminum inserts on the dash instead of previous wooden panel finish. The integrated music player at central console now gets connectivity of Bluetooth for hassle free pairing via. mobile phone. For the safety concern there are features like front and rear fog lamps, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and rear defogger.
Everything under the bonnet remains intact with 1.6L Duratec Petrol engine and 1.4L Diesel Duratorq Diesel power train. The features are said to have been borrowed from Ford Figo hatchback.
