New Ford Figo and Polo compared

The new Ford Figo is in and so is the new Volkswagen Polo. Though the latter is pricier than the earlier but can there be a comparison between the two. Certainly there is and these are worth comparing when the market is now flooded with lots of cars all set to woo car buyers this Diwali. The Polo price in India starts at Rs 4.67 lakh while the new Figo price starts at Rs 3.81 lakh. Though there is a big price gap of over Rs 80,000 plus but these are worth comparing.

Where the Polo boats of a European design, the Figo tries to impress with its traditional looks. The German car is a redesign by the famous designer while the new Figo seems to be a hurried update ahead of the festive season. The European design of the new Polo with lots of cues from Audi cars suggests a wholly new appearance. The new bumpers and the headlamps with daytime running lights seem to be a marvel in themselves. Thus the extent to which the Polo looks upmarket, the new Figo on the other hand looks plain and traditional. However, as far as the colors are concerned, the Figo takes lead with its lime green catching attention of car buyers from all corners of the country.

Comparing the inside of these cars is a daunting task as where the Figo has much the pain looks and Ford Fiesta like appearance in a small size, the Polo has more up market and comfortable looking interiors. The lack of steering mounted audio controls is a big minus for the Polo Highline. Under the hood as well, the Figo diesel to some extent matches to the performance of the Polo as the 1.2 L petrol engine seems to underpower the car. Now the decision is entirely on the car buyers as those who wish to have a traditional looking car in their parking space may go for Figo while those who wish to experiment with and get more power and driving comfort in return shell out Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh more to get the Polo.
