New Ford Figo launched in Nepal, to be exported to Algeria by Dec

The facelifted version of Ford Figo which was launched in India in October has also been launched in Nepal at a price of 1.84 million to 2.37 million Nepalese Rupees, in Indian currency the price of the car is around Rs 11.52 lakh to Rs 14.8 lakh for the petrol variant. However, the diesel variant is available for 2.2 to 2.74 million Nepalese Rupees, which equals to Rs 13.71 lakh to Rs 17.13 lakh. A warranty of 1,00,000 km or 2 years whichever comes first is being offered on the hatchback. 

Ford’s small car Figo is a popular hatchback in Nepal and is being sold there by GO Automobiles, the official distributor for Ford in Nepal. The new version of the hatchback is bestowed with a Kinetic design. The upgraded version of Figo has a total of 140 changes including the 10 styling changes. Apart from this, the company also plans to export the upgraded version of Ford Figo to Algeria; the hatchback will go on sale in Algeria from either November end or December.

Ford is exporting Figo hatchback to 35 countries at present, the Maraimalai Nagar plant located near Chennai is the only manufacturing base for Figo.
The President and Managing Director of Ford India, Mr. Michael Boneham said that the export volume of the vehicle currently is around 20 to 25 % of the manufacturing capacity. On the other hand, close to 40 per cent of the engines being produced in India is being shipped outside. Elsecom Motors, Ford’s official distributor in Algeria confirmed that the sale of Ford Figo will commence by either November end or in the beginning of December. The 1.2 litre petrol engine powered trim will be shipped to Algeria which is available in manual transmission. Features like ABS, dual airbags, power windows, electrically adjustable mirrors and central locking are some of the other features which will be incorporated in this trim. There is no clarity on the price of the hatchback as of now for the Algerian car market. However, the expected price is around 1.1 million Algerian Dinars (close to 7.47 lakh).

The new Figo launched in India last month comes with reworked headlamps, new hexagonal lower airdam, the front grille has been given a tinge of chrome, brand new fog lamp enclosure and new alloy wheels. The interiors have been spruced up too, flaunting new seat fabrics, blue coloured dashboard along with steering mounted controls for audio system. The hatchback is also introduced in two new colour options which include Bright Yellow and Kinetic Blue. Few changes have been made under the hood to enhance the initial pickup and shift quality.
