New Honda City launched, price Rs 11.5 lakh in Indian currency

Honda cars are no doubt known for their dependability and performance. But a recent launch of the Honda City in Chile has also made these cars world famous for their high price as well. The new Honda City launch price in Chile is 99000 Chilean Peso (Rs 11.5 lakh in Indian currency). This is far more than the price of the car in India. In Chile Honda City is available in two models – City LX and City EX. The hefty price is due to the fact that the car will be imported as a completely built up unit to Chile.

The Chilean City model is 1.5 L iVTEC engine powered and this engine gives 120 bhp to the car. The model is offered in three manual gearbox and one automatic gearbox variant. In order to make it distinct from the other models, the car has black and white interiors. Also the use of quality plastics inside the car is much evident. However, the Chilean people will miss the dual tone beige interiors that are available in most of the markets. The new City in Chile has been infused with a lot of standard features that makes even the entry level model LX much attractive.

The features such as dual airbags at the front, the acclaimed to be best in class ECO Mode and safety features such as antilock braking and electronic brakeforce distribution for anti skidding are some of the features that the new City will be known for. Besides this, the all new 16 inch allots and audio system with full USB connectivity will certainly lure Chilean population to buy this Japanese car. Meanwhile, in India, Honda is preparing for the City CNG launch which is expected to be anytime. While the Honda City Diesel and Honda Jazz Diesel models are in the offing.
