Hyundai has high expectations with the new Santa Fe and it hope to sell around 1.52 lakh units globally. However, the Korean car maker has not been able to sell well in its homeland primarily due to rise in competition and launch of other brand cars. The new Santa Fe is more fuel efficient and more good looking than the present generation. It has also been completely redesigned on the lines of new design philosophy ‘Fluidic’ that has now been applied to Hyundai Verna and New Hyundai iGen i20.

Contrary to the dip in demand of Hyundai cars in its homeland, there has been unprecedented increase in the linking of Korean car across the world with much improvement in sales in India. It is expected that the launch of the improved models has triggered sales in India. The small car Hyundai Eon has bagged considerable response from car buyers in India and in addition to it the recently launched Hyundai iGen i20 has also been able to draw some good figures on the sales chart.

The new Santa Fe will be available in 2 L and 2.2 L diesel engine models. The US based model will have a 2L turbo model as well along with a 2.4 L petrol model. Globally new Santa Fe will be competing with Audi Q5.
