New Hyundai Sonata launched in Auto Expo
The premium presentation in the form of New Hyundai Sonata along with Hexa Space Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in concept form is unveiled at Pragati Maidan, by Hyundai Motors where 2012 Delhi Auto Expo is taking place. Both the vehicles are dressed-up very well in their fluidic designed clothes. The concept MPV was called as HND-7 concept till yesterday but now got a name. The family sedan is powered by a 2.4L petrol GDI engine, and no diesel engines that were expected earlier. The price though not revealed by Hyundai, but will be anything around INR 18 Lakh. The concept MPV Hexa Space is projected to be a 7 to 8-seater and if production takes-off it will compete with Maruti Ertiga MPV, while the luxury sedan will contend with Skoda Laura and Volkswagen Jetta in India.
The compact concept MPV that is seen with big 16-inch six spoke alloys combined with some marvelous cues flowing all over the sides of vehicle looks astonishing and provides you with a feeling of premium-ness. The front has a large grille and headlamps that are stretched upwards to the bonnet along with fog lamps that are perfectly placed at the two corners of big front bumper. Furthermore, the rear has cornering tail lamps to provide clear visibility from either sides of the vehicle.
The exquisite sedan 2012 Hyundai Sonata that will replace the existing Hyundai Sonata Transform is also called as ‘Hyundai i40’ or ‘Hyundai i45’ in some parts of the globe. The vehicle that is in its sixth generation has capability to seat five occupants comfortably. The 2.4L petrol power-train will get a 6-speed automatic transmission. The saloon is targeted towards the elite class of car buyers and will surely prove to be a runaway success for the Hyundai Motors in India in the premium segment.
Hyundai Motors retails hatchbacks Hyundai Santro Xing, Hyundai i10, i20 and Hyundai Verna Fluidic in sedan segment along with Santa Fe in the SUV segment in India.
