New Renault Twingo Europe launch slated on Feb 1, India launch possible later
French automaker that has just launched Renault Pulse in India at the Auto Expo 2012 is playing on the front foot. In a recent move, the car maker has decided to launch small city car New Renault Twingo. It is expected to be launched on the February 1 in Europe. As per sources, the new Renault Twingo, a small city car has Euro NCAP safety three star rating and is in its third generation after it was first launched in 1992. Renault could also think of a Renault Twingo launch in India. However, out of the five cars to be launched till autumn 2012, the automaker has launched four and the fifth could be a sedan and so we cannot expect Renault Twingo to be launched in India in this year.

As per sources, the new refreshed version of Renault Twingo has a 1.2L 16V 75bhp engine under the hood and it delivers a mileage of 23.4 kmpl with very low (119g/km) emissions. The European version will be available with an array of customizable options. There will be a choice of alloy wheels, body colors and an array of other accessories both inside and outside. Renault has now introduced a Bluetooth, USB enabled music system in the Twingo. There will also be iPhone and iPod connectivity in the new Twingo. It also features a Renault developed navigation system which also given an insight into the driving performance and the miles to go in real time. The system also suggests tips to ensure maximum fuel efficiency. Among other features are climate control and an electric panoramic roof.

The new Twingo will be also available with a package that will cover the vehicle for four year or 100,000 miles. This also includes free routine service apart from roadside assistance. The new Renault Twingo is available for test rides in Europe and will be launched in February.

I personally believe that Renault should bring this one to India. The only to sustain in Indian market is to strengthen the small car segment. Hope Renault take this issue seriously. Expecting new Twingo 5 door launch soon.
