New Skoda Fabia 2014 images swarm in
The new generation Skoda Fabia is expected to arrive in next two years. Recently, a website has put up some images of the new Fabia hatchback. Seeing the images it is revealed that the small car is going to have a facelift in a big way. A close rival of Nissan Micra, Renault Pulse and Volkswagen Polo in India, the Fabia hatchback eagerly awaits its new design. The new avatar will be based on the MQB platform that has now become the most popular platform of its parent company Volkswagen. It is on this platform that upcoming Volkswagen UP will be based.

The new Fabia will have a bigger boot apart from the design changes that are obvious if it had a new platform underneath. As the wheelbase is expected to increase, the new Fabia will have more interior space and more legroom for the rear passengers. The design philosophy will be the VisionD Concept and will give a heightened appeal to the new generation Skoda hatchback. The under the hood department is also expected to have some entries in the form of 1.2 L diesel unit and a similarly powered petrol engine. These will be almost similarly powered as the current generation engines are.

As soon as the new Fabia is in, VW will also have the new VW Polo in and both the cars will share a large number of components besides the platform. Both are expected to be launched around the same time. With entry of these two cars it is expected that the segment will again hot and who knows what will happen in 2014 and it could be possible that the premium segment will heat up more as there will lot more premium segment cars coming in India by that time.
