New Volkswagen Gol, Voyager launched

Volkswagen car maker has unveiled the new Volkswagen Gol (Volkswagen Polo) in Brazil. This car alike India targets the mass market and is one of the best selling hatchbacks in Brazil. In India, the Gol is known as Polo and this car is a close rival of Maruti Swift, Skoda Fabia and Ford Figo besides other segment cars. Recently, the car maker had released the Polo and Volkswagen Vento IPL editions that similar to the IPL had meek response. With the launch of new Gol in Brazil, the market there is expected to set new benchmarks in hatchback sales.

In addition to the Gol, the car maker has also released the new version of the sister sedan Volkswagen Voyage that is similar to the Indian Volkswagen Vento sedan. The Gol and Voyage are there in Brazil similar to the Polo and Vento in India. Now that both the hatchback and the sedan have received their new offerings, it is expected to have a decent market share boost. Notably, the Gol and Voyage have quite a hold over the market like India where the Vento sells well than its rival Honda City. Where it has been over 30 years now to Gol, the small car has been one of the best selling cars in Brazil.

As part of the design changes, the new Gol has new grille, new bumpers and headlamp designs. The designs changes at the rear include new tail lamp design and new bumpers apart from some design touches here and there. Overall, the new Gol poses as a sports hatch and has a new lighting and new dashboard inside. In addition to this, a new audio system now is part of the car that has USB connectivity. The car is available in 1 L and 1.6 L variants and so is the Voyager that also has a boot space to offer in addition to all the features of the Gol.
