New Volkswagen Golf launch on Sep 4

The new Volkswagen Golf is about to take a new avatar on the coming September 4. This 2013 model of the Seventh Generation Volkswagen Golf will be based on the new platform that the German car maker has developed to base some of its best cars. This MQB platform will not only make the new hatchback lighter but will also make it much more appealing performance wise as well. In India the Golf is an upcoming VW car and is expected to be priced around Rs 6 lakh. If all goes well soon after the unveil, a series of global launches will begin and Golf could also head to India as well. However, prior to the Golf, the VW Up! small car and Skoda Citigo are expected to arrive in India.

There are a lot of features of the new Volkswagen car that will make it more attractive than the present generation Golf. These are the use of high strength steel which will not only make the new Golf lighter but will also give it much durability and strength to face some of the severest of the impacts. As per sources information, the Golf will be shedding 100 kilos following the acceptance of the new global platform. Another striking thing about the new Golf is that it will return a mileage of over 30 kmpl on diesel and this will make it one of the best mileage cars. After its launch in India, the Volkswagen small car will be competing with Skoda Fabia, Maruti Ritz, Toyota Etios Liva and Ford Figo price wise and will be beat the Chevrolet Beat Diesel in terms of mileage.

The new Volkswagen Golf will be using less steel and more of plastic and aluminum so that it remains lighter and gains strength. The new Golf will also have some of the lowest tail pipe emission following the BlueMotion technology in place under the hood. Thus, in all, the Golf will prove to be the most efficient hatchback by the Germans and the use of the similar platform to develop small cars, sedan and crossovers will bring down the production cost to a bare minimum.
