Volkswagen Golf wins World Car Of The Year 2013 title
Small car Volkswagen Golf is gaining immense popularity in the world while Indian awaits for this car anxiously. An international expert jury has acclaimed this best selling VW car as the ‘World Car of the Year 2013’ title. This is one of the most prestigious titles in the car industry and the best of the cars were in the race for it. Golf has received this award at the onset of the New York Auto Show and this award is another feather in the cap for the car. Notably, the Golf is highly expected in India but the car maker resists from launching it sensing the poor response currently to cars in India.

It is believed that the car will be priced around Rs 6 lakh and there is no update regarding its launch date in India. Meanwhile VW subsidiary Skoda also mulls over the launch of Skoda Citigo small car in India but that too is limited to a series of market survey only. The Skoda Citigo price in India is believed to remain around Rs 4 lakh and the car maker has not yet revealed any launch plans for the car. In the meantime, both VW and Skoda are offering huge discounts on its cars in India along with attractive offers in order push sales to the next step.

The Volkswagen Golf is around 30 years old in the industry and it is currently in its seventh generation. Till now, the latest model of Golf has earned over 17 awards since its launch in the end of last year. This award is considered to be the most prestigious and a car winning this award is considered to be of great worth. Soon, the sports car versions of this car will be launched.
