New Volkswagen Polo launched, priced Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom price)
Finally the wait of new Volkswagen Polo came to end with its launch today in an event held at New Delhi few minutes back. The new Volkswagen Polo has been offered with starting price of Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi), while the price of variants in diesel trim has starts with price tag of Rs. 6.27 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi). With facelift Polo the German car maker has launched the Polo Cross with starting price of Rs. 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom price) with price of top end GT variant with price tag of Rs. 7.99 lakh (TSI and TDI). The major USP of facelift Polo apart from interesting cosmetic changes is integration of new 1.5 litre four cylinder diesel engine that churns the power of 89bhp and torque of 230Nm. The dealers will start the delivery of new Polo from next month.
Talking about the cosmetic changes offered in facelift Polo it receives newly developed front bumper followed by chrome band crossing the air dam, the new fog lamps, new headlights with twin barrel units, the new fog lamps on the front fascia. At the rear portion it receives the new tail lights with minute changes. With all these cosmetic updates the new 10 spoke alloy wheels adds elegance to the looks of new Volkswagen Polo 2014. Moving towards the interiors it receives new three spoke steering wheel, instrument cluster with some noticeable changes including multi information display, the dashboard also receives new dual color treatment, thus replacing the conventional black colored dashboard.
Apart from standard Polo variants the car maker has also launched the GT variants and Polo Cross. The GT TSI continues the existing 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine boosting the power of 103 bhp while GT TDI receives 1.5 litre diesel engine generating the power of 103 bhp and torque of 250Nm. The Cross Polo will be offered only in diesel variant and will empower the newly introduced diesel engine generating the power of 89bhp and torque of 230Nm.
