The Indian automotive market has faced various upheavals in last 12 months including the increasing fuel price, interest rates, inflammation and shift in buyer preferences. The world’s cheapest car Tata Nano has buzzed the market few years back, which has been proved a big failure for the company. Now, buyers are more precise for the quality and value of the cars therefore by considering the waves of market automakers introducing more innovative and affordable cars including the Japanese auto giant ‘Nissan’.

The Executive Vice-President of Nissan, Andy Palmer said that Company is more focused to produce affordable cars from various sub-segments through every possible means. The brilliant designing and engineering team will make the dreams come true, especially its Chennai manufacturing plant.

In this segment, Nissan will struggle hard with the Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon. However, its domestic partner, Ashok Leyland has clearly denied of any involvement with this project of Nissan.

It will be an independent journey of the Nissan that will be the bright future of the sub-Rs3 lakh cars in Indian market. Nissan Motor India has submitted the 44% growth with the total sales of 1, 596 units for the month of December 2011 against the sales figure (1, 1104 units) of same month in 2010.
