Three MPVs in less than four months will be a record in India and addition to this segment will be the highest this year. Meanwhile, the existing players have tightened their seats belts for a bumpy ride as Maruti Ertiga is launched today. However, Toyota and Mahindra as well as the American car maker had sensed this early and all the three have already given their cars a sincere facelift. The new Mahindra Xylo is now available in a new XUV 500 SUV inspired styling while the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 has got its facelift as well as BSIV engine. Toyota was first to release the facelift of the Innova and it has been made more like a car from the front.

Similar to the Ertiga, Evalia and Enjoy – three E’s in the MPV segment will see one more offering which is Ashok Leyland Stile. The Chevrolet Enjoy MPV is a joint product of GM and Chinese car maker Wuling. It is believed that the new Chevrolet MPV will be placed at a price segment similar to Ertiga. To be powered by 1.3 L multijet Fiat diesel engine and a 1.4 L petrol unit option, the Enjoy will be a seven seater car with lots of interior comfort features and acres of space inside. The other upcoming MPV from Japanese stable is Nissan Evalia which is a hit in US. It is expected to have a 1.5 L K9K diesel engine under the bonnet and is believed to return excellent mileage.
