Nissan Evalia comparison with Innova and Xylo
The larger than van car Nissan Evalia is in and with it comes its obvious envois rivals which are Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. Where the one shares the homeland with it, the other is from its target country. Innova has seen India when there was none but the Tata Winger was there. This big sized MPV with a price tag of Rs 8.49 lakh is a new car in town and whatever new gets a moment of attraction. Let have a look at what else the Evalia has vis-à-vis Innova and Xylo that could settle it fast in the Indian car market.

Brand
Nissan no doubt is a well established brand. People have seen, heard and driven the small car Nissan Micra and have relished the spacious Nissan Sunny sedan. There should be no problem as far as the brand value is concerned. But it must not be forgotten that India has a soft heart for Mahindra cars and Innova has established itself, proved itself so well that even Maruti Ertiga could not do much damage to the Toyota car.
Space
No doubt, the Evalia is better in terms of space. Better than Innova or Xylo or any other car in the segment but is India really in need of so much of mini truckload space? Is that much of space really a need of Indian common man when it has Tata Winger, Tata Venture or the Maruti Eeco to ferry their daily luggage or stuff? But the Evalia will be a sure hit among those who wish to have their whole family relaxing inside and still want to have a large sized box in the boot.

Looks
Innova has impressed a lot with its looks and the not so recent makeover has made it class apart. The new Xylo no doubt has also grown Cheetah like. The Evalia on the other hand promises nothing but a box image. Where Innova and Xylo are truly cars, Evalia is more like a box.
Mileage
A 1.5 L K9K dCi diesel engine returning 14 kmpl is under the hood of the Evalia. Nissan even claims that it can even go more than 19.3 kmpl as well. The Innova sticks to 11.8 kmpl while the Xylo returns around 14 kmpl on road.

Price
The Nissan Evalia starts at Rs 8.49 lakh while Innova price is Rs 9.23 lakh. Whereas the Mahindra Xylo is the most affordably priced at Rs 8.24 lakh. Thus a quick comparison derives a verdict in favor of Xylo if the price is concerned but if space and mileage is seen the Evalia emerges as a sure winner. Meanwhile if it is an overall package, the Evalia just falls short of Innova.
