Nissan Leaf EV to be on display inside out at Delhi Auto Expo 2012
The Auto Expo 2012 is expected to witness a swarm this winter at the Pragati Maidan in the country’s capital from January 5 to January 11, 2012. It is expected to be none less than a show of strength by car makers. It is here that there will be launch and unveil of over 50 cars and bikes by over 24 foreign and domestic car makers. It seems to be a big time for Nissan as besides some stunning launches, the Japanese car company will also be showcasing Nissan Leaf EV at the Auto Expo.

As per reports the Nissan Leaf EV is a small family car and will be electric powered. It has reportedly attracted rounds of applauses in the markets in North America, Europe and in its home country Japan. Experts however doubt its feasibility of Nissan Leaf EV in India following almost nil infrastructure like charging stations for Electric Vehicles in the country. Experts believe that there will be an emphasis on alternate fuel vehicles specially EVs in India as car companies observe these as great option to get rid of burgeoning fuel prices.

In addition to Nissan Leaf EV, the Japanese car giant will also be showcasing its sports car Nissan GT-R that has won accolades for the carmaker at the German Nurburgring race. The 3,799 cc adrenaline machine used forced induction techniques and produces a mammoth 485 PS giving it a top speed of 311 km/h.

Besides the speed machine, all of the Nissan offerings in India including lately launched Nissan Sunny, small car Nissan Micra which are produced at the company’s Chennai plant will be also be displayed at the Auto Expo 2012. Nissan X trail, Nissan Teana and Nissan 370Z cars will be up for viewing of the auto enthusiasts footfall at the show.
