Nissan Leaf launch confirmed for India
Nissan, the Japanese car maker has today confirmed that it is going to launch the Electric Vehicle (EV), Nissan Leaf on the Indian shores in coming one or two years. Nissan’s Managing Director and CEO today stated that Nissan is looking forward to launch the EV Leaf in the Indian auto-market, however, he has not specified the exact tenure of launch. He added that their decision to launch this alluring EV in the domestic market would entirely depend on the plans of Indian government to promote environment friendly cars and they would expect that the government would come up with the proper infrastructure initiative to promote EV.

At present, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicle is the only EV that is being offered on the domestic shores and to create a scope of EV in the Indian market, Nissan Motors too would prefer to try their fate with the Leaf. Globally, Nissan Leaf has been of the successful electric vehicle products and it has received a warm response across the U.S and Japanese auto market. Last year, the total sales of Nissan Leaf globally accounted 21,000 units, thereby, entitling Nissan as the world leader in EV cars.

Nissan is undoubtedly putting immense efforts to get a sound grip on the Indian auto industry. The car maker is yet to come up with other fabulous cars like Nissan Evalia, Nissan NV200 and Nissan Leaf. So far, the company has got a line-up of 5 cars in India i.e.; Nissan Micra (hatchback), Nissan Sunny (Mid-size sedan), Nissan Teana (Premium Saloon), Nissan Xtrail (SUV) and Nissan 370Z (Premium Sports Car).
