Petrol cars production stopped due to low demand

It seems that soon there will be waiting time on Maruti Alto or Hyundai Eon or any other petrol car as economic slowdown has taken its toll on the production of petrol cars in the country. Most of the automakers have slowed down making cars run on petrol engine. One of such companies is Toyota Kirlosker Motors which has stopped manufacturing the petrol cars as the demand of petrol cars reduced significantly in the recent past.

Another giant in auto sector, Fiat has decided to keep its plants closed for few days in the coming months. There are many other companies which would close their plants for some days in a week, including Tata Motors. The Tata Motors will not manufacture its commercial vehicles for 3 days this week. The arrangement has been made for the Pune plant. Maruti India will also give a break to its employees as it will keep the plant closed from next week for week-long annual maintenance.

Toyota Kirlosker has taken the decision to stop producing petrol cars as the stock of the petrol cars such as Toyota Etios Liva, Toyota Etios sedan and other Toyota cars have been piling up because of slow growth in demand. The sources claimed that the inventories of Toyota Kirlosker’s petrol cars have gone above 30 days. At the Toyota Kirlosker’s plant the production of petrol cars has been stopped since June 16. But, it has not been decided that when the company would start producing the petrol cars again.

The car makers are adjusting their production of petrol cars like Tata Motors claimed that they have adjusted production of car according to the market scenario. The other car makers said that there petrol cars not selling as they expected. Moreover, the companies claimed that the sale of their petrol cars has been shot up. But, its demand has also decreased slightly in the recent past. Some of the reasons of low demand of light weight commercial vehicles are slowdown in construction industries, high interest rates and also the mining industry is not doing well.
