Piaggio micro cars to launch in India
World’s fourth largest manufacturer of scooters and bikes, the Italian automobile company, Piaggio, is renowned for designing, developing and marketing small commercial vehicles as well. Speculations are rife that the auto maker is contemplating to make India a pivot for manufacturing its 3 seater micro cars which is plans to launch in the European market. In 2010, the company unveiled a vehicle codenamed NT3, the vehicle is 2.4 m long and was housed with a 350cc mill. Piaggio could induct the micro car in 2015 and the stout frame of the micro car is its USP for the European market as it becomes easy to drive on the busy streets of Europe.

Piaggio plans to come out a winner in the micro cars segment. The most important factor about the micro vehicles is its cost. Piaggio is thinking to roll out the micro vehicle in hybrid, diesel and petrol powerplants. Along with this, the 200cc variant of the micro car is also on the cards and it will pitch against Bajaj RE60, a people mover that will be available in 200cc engine. The Bajaj RE60 was exhibited in the beginning of the year 2012 in Delhi.
