Production of Datsun Go+ starts, launch expected early next year
After successful launch of Datsun Go hatchback, car maker Datsun, subsidiary of Japanese car maker Nissan Motors is all set to launch its second vehicle in Indian car market. The car maker made its re-entry in auto industry with launch of Go hatchback with a promise to bring an MPV soon after its launch. It is now reported that to prove its words true car maker is all set to bring Go+ MPV in Indian car market sometimes during the month of January 2015. For this the car maker has started the production of MPV at Renault-Nissan’s production unit located at Oragadam in Chennai.

Based on its elder sibling Go hatchback’s platform Go+ MPV would be energized with 1.2 litre three pot cylinder engine developing the power of 67 bhp and torque of 104NM. It is also expected that the MPV would be also launched in diesel version that would be empowered with 1.5 litre K9K engine, which would be same as offered in Nissan’s hatchback Micra. The engines of both petrol and diesel variant would be offered with five speed manual gearbox. It is speculated to launched with price tag falling between Rs. 4.50 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh.
The MPV would offer comfort seating experience to seven passengers and interestingly although it would be an MPV it will join the segment of 4 meter vehicle as an impact of which it will receive relaxation in excise duty. The front fascia of MPV resembles to elder sibling Go hatchback following the same side profile and rear profile. The only difference would be length of both the vehicles. Moving towards the interiors the MPV receives audio system with mobile docking system, follow me home headlamps, bench like front seats, smart wipers and many more.
