Raid De Himalaya 2011; Fiat India takes challenge across rocky terrains
Raid De Himalaya 2011 event that will be flagged off today i.e. 12th October, will comprise Fiat India team placed in the hatch back Fiat Punto - Multijet 90HP, capable enough to take on the rough and rock-strewn Himalayan terrains. Fiat India team is of two trained drivers one Mr. Pawan Chaudhry and other Mr. Nitin Anand; who will captain and play the part of rally driver correspondingly during the adventure route. Both of them are keen to showcase their talent in undertaking the rocky roads of Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Rally Driver Pawan Chaudhry turned out to be victorious at the Desert Storm 2009, and has participated in number of similar adventurous events. Nitin Anand; who plays the role of navigator besides the driver, is an exceptional rally person was champion at 2010 Raid De Himalayas and ranked third at the Desert Storm event this year. Both as a unit is ready to capture the latest confront that heads-up to Suru Valley located in Ladakh. The race will go on till ten days and end-up in Srinagar.
The motorsport Raid De Himalaya started in the year 1999. The 2011 ten-day event will witness the participation of overall 291participants, who will pass through 2000 kilometers. Himalayan Motorsports Association is organizing this event; hence the rally will be carried out with strict guidelines laid by the International Sporting Code of FIA.
Fiat India which retails sedan Linea and Grande Punto in the country; will gain immense popularity because of this event.
