Renault to launch Nissan Evalia based MUV in India

Renault seems to be planning a big show for India. It is about to launch the Renault Duster SUV tomorrow and there are reports that inspired by the huge success of Maruti Ertiga, the French car maker will be launching its MUV in the country soon. The Duster SUV launch tomorrow will be followed by Renault Scala sedan launch during the festive season. The Renault MUV will be launched sometime late this year or early next year. In the absence of any confirmation by Renault, the MUV has been a guess work till now but there will be one indeed in order to complete coverage of all the segments.

Renault has been pretty aggressive about India as it is one of the major emerging car markets of the world. After the launch of Renault Duster tomorrow, the car maker will be preparing for the rebadged Nissan Sunny avatar – Renault Scala launch in Oct – Nov this year. The MUV by Renault is also expected to be a rebadged avatar and this time Renault will be copying Nissan Evalia that is also expected to be launched this year. The Evalia MUV is a seven seater car with lots of headroom, legroom and elbow room even at the third row. Meanwhile, Nissan also plans to launch a commercial version of the Evalia in collaboration with Ashok Leyland. This MUV will be called as Ashok Leyland Stile and as per the latest updates Stile launch will be a little delayed.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that Ford is also coming up with the seven seater avatar of its upcoming SUV Ford Ecosport. Being under four meter for India, the Ecosport is supposed to be a five seater as the squeezing of the extra .3 meter from the Brazilian counterpart means that there will not be enough legroom for the third row.
