Skoda Superb 2016 launched in Indian car market, priced Rs. 22.68 lakh (ex-showroom price)
Czech car maker Skoda has launched the next generation of its luxurious sedan Superb in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 22.68 lakh (ex-showroom price, Mumbai) for its base variant followed by price of Rs. 29.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for its top end variant. The new generation of Superb is based on MQB platform borrowed from German car maker Volkswagen and bestows some exclusively features that enhances its relevance. Under the hood car maker continues same existing engine configurations of 1.8 litre TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI CR diesel engine boosting the power of 177.5 bhp and 174.6 bhp respectively. The petrol variant is offered with six speed manual gearbox and seven speed automatic direction shift gearbox system. The diesel variant is mated with six speed DSG automatic transmission system.
Physically the new Superb carries same appearance as witnessed in Skoda Octavia, Audi A4 and Volkswagen Passat, which is mainly due to its development of MQB platform on which both these cars are developed. However, it still carries its conventional features retaining its ancestral legacy. The front fascia is blessed with butterfly grille along with vertical line and chrome accents. The front portion is customized with 3 D headlamps and sportier bumper embellishing new enlarged air dam with horizontally placed fog lamps. On the rear portion it receives sharp boot opener, sportier rear bumper and LED tail lamps.
Inside the cabin it receives spacious cabin and well customized interior amenities giving an impression of interiors similar to Passat from Volkswagen group. The central console gets piano black color finish, three spoke steering wheel, horizontal AC vents, parking sensor, panoramic sunroof, android auto, dual zone air conditioner, electronic seats and various other contemporary amenities.
