Ssangyong Mahindra Rexton coming your way this Diwali!

Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to launch the 2012 Ssangyong Mahindra Rexton SUV in the Indian car market this festive season. Diwali is certainly the best time to launch products for all manufacturers, be it cars, mobiles or any other. This time around, M&M is willing to encash the Diwali season with its Rexton SUV. After acquiring major share in Ssangyong, Rexton will become the first product to be launched in India under the name of Ssangyong. However, one thing still remains unclear as to will Mahindra launch Ssangyong Rexton III or Mahindra Rexton W SUV in the country.

The Ssangyong Rexton III has the Mercedes Benz M Class as the base, whereas Rexton W SUV is the facelift model of the Rexton III. This model has been showcased at numerous motor shows around the globe, but Ssangyong Rexton III has been spotted quite a few times on the Indian roads during its test runs. So, one could expect Rexton III SUV launch here very soon. But if actual facts are taken into account, Rexton III is now 2 years old; therefore going for an older model isn’t a good decision.

However, on the other hand, Rexton W SUV was also spotted in India recently. If this one is launched in the country, the SUV will come powered with a 2.0 litre of turbo diesel motor that would churn out maximum power of 154BHP along with 360Nm of peak torque. The five speed automatic gearbox unified with the engine will add on more charm here. The interiors of this SUV are way better than Rexton III and more comfortable for sure. The price tags of the car haven’t been revealed so far, but hopefully, the company will keep them competitive and reasonable.
