Suzuki launches special edition of Alto
The Japanese auto giant Suzuki Motors has introduced a new special edition of its one of the most popular car Alto in the UK market. Named as ‘Alto Play’, the new car carries a number of upgrades at both exterior and interior fronts. It is to be mentioned here that the Suzuki Alto is known as Maruti A-Star in the Indian market, and is exported to a number of foreign countries from India, after being manufactured at company’s Manesar plant. Also, the same car is sold as Nissan Pixo in the European market.

The all new Alto Play carries a new color scheme at the interior along with a special blue seat fabric. The new interior color scheme of the car comes in combination with Oyster Blue metallic paint at the exterior. In a bid to give a more up-market look to the Alto Play, the company designers have provided a charismatic silver accent to the car. The finishing touch to the exterior has been given by the addition of body colored mirrors and door handles. The new Alto Play carries a highly efficient 1.0L petrol engine that delivers a peak power of 68bhp.

However, the chances of this special edition coming to India are very less, as the A-Star hasn’t been performing as per the expectations in the Indian market. Interestingly, despite being Maruti’s flagship exporting model, that car hasn’t been able to get the same level of acceptance in the Indian market. The car has been somehow left behind in sales as compared to its sibling Maruti Wagon R that has been the second bestselling car in Maruti’s India portfolio.
