Suzuki launches Sports version of Swift hatchback
An all-new version of best selling hatchback car Swift named as ‘2012 Suzuki Swift Sport’ has been launched by the Japanese auto major, Suzuki Motor Corporation. The new sporty Swift is packed with some additional features along with refreshed power-train that is more fuel efficient and greener in comparison to its earlier models. The hatchback car is tagged with a price of 21,000 US dollars.
The 1.6L Turbocharged power-train of 2012 Swift is capable of producing a sheer power of 134 bhp together with 160 Nm of absolute torque. The Swift Sport car saw its initial launch in the year 2006 in Britain, and since then Suzuki Motors has managed to make sales of 6,000 vehicles of this model. The standard version of the car, Maruti Swift, is also very popular in India as well.

The all-new Swift can now be speed-up from 0 to 100 km per hr in a quick time of 8.7 seconds along with an enhanced top speed of 195 kmph. Apart from the sportier exterior appearance the 2012 Swift comes with standard 17 inch alloy wheels, fog lamps and headlamps with HID projector, 45 series low-profile tyres along with the class leading features of Cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, start-n-stop button and air conditioner etc. in the interior department.

The company is also aware on the ecological concerns, as the new 2012 Swift Sport emits only 147 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The overall fuel mileage of the hatchback is of 18.75 km per liter.
In India, Suzuki Motors works under collaboration with Maruti and carries more than 40 percent of market share in the country. Its Indian portfolio consists of Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Alto, Maruti A-Star, Maruti Swift and Maruti Zen Estilo along with sedans Maruti SX4 and Maruti Swift Dzire.
