The most fuel efficient car in the world Volkswagen XL1 going into production
Volkswagen is here to make your mind boggle and offer you something that you have never ever imagined in your dreams. Ever heard of a car, which would deliver 111 kmpl of mileage? No? Well, VW is making this dream come true. Volkswagen had showcased Volkswagen XL1 at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. Now, the firm is all set to reveal it at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, which is scheduled to take place this March. There, the car maker will be displaying the production ready model of XL1. This is the world’s most fuel efficient car and is being called super efficient vehicle. This small car is actually a hybrid (diesel + electric motor), which would blow your mind away with its mileage figures. Believe it or not, this small hybrid from Volkswagen will be delivery an amazing fuel economy of 111 kmpl. If run on electric motor, the car could touch 50 kms comfortably.
So what’s inside Volkswagen XL1, which makes it so, fuel efficient? Well it’s the 2-cylinder turbo diesel engine that is capable of producing 48PS of power ad 120Nm of torque. This diesel engine is accompanied by E-Motor, which delivers 27PS of power and 20NM of torque. The 7-Speed dual clutch DSG transmission combined with the motors makes the car deliver wondrous mileage figures. Even the pick and acceleration isn’t disappointing. It could touch 100 kmph speed mark in 12.7 seconds with a top speed of 160kmph.

Therefore, if Volkswagen XL1 comes to India, it will surely become the top most fuel efficient car in the country. The figures as you saw are mind boggling. But, with these tremendous figures, be prepared for a whopping price, which would accompany VW XL1. Till now, the official launching details hasn’t been revealed by the firm and as far as its launch in India is concerned, it not in scene for the time being at least.
