The new BMW X5 launching tomorrow
German car maker BMW is going to launch its luxurious SUV BMW X5 tomorrow on May 29, 2014 in Indian car market. The bookings for the same were started quite earlier on the down payment of Rs. 5 lakh. The SUV will carry vast cosmetic changes but will continue with the same engine configurations as offered in the existing version of X5. As company had started the booking of only diesel variant it is speculated that only diesel variant of X5 xDrive 30d SUV will be launched in market which would be equipped with turbocharged 3.0 litre in line six diesel engine and coated with XF eight speed automatic gearbox. The engine generates the power of 258 bhp and torque of 560 Nm.
Talking about the cosmetic changes introduced in new BMW X5 2014 the SUV now carries sharp lines across the body followed by roof rails, bootlid spoiler, skid plates and new alloy wheels. The front fascia receives new kidney grille. Apart from this it will also sport various latest technical features including driving assist system along with company’s iDrive system. The interiors now receive more spacious cabin followed by enlarged seats at both front and rear portions. The SUV will be offered with two seating options of five seater and seven seater.
The upcoming SUV will be assembled locally at company’s production unit located at Chennai. After launch it will compete against Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes Benz M Class.
