The New Mahindra Thar 2020 Ready For Launch In August
Mahindra Thar the mid-sized vehicle from the domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra which was slated for launch this month with a new BS-VI compliant engine will be now launched one the situation turns to normalcy. The news regarding this was confirmed by Mr. Veejay Nakra, CEO, Mahindra Auto. According to him the upgraded Thar and XUV 500 will receive the new petrol engines as showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2020 held earlier this year.
The petrol variant will be empowered with the new 1.5-liter M-Stallion engine that will boost the power of 163 bhp and generate the power of 280Nm. However, keeping the condition of Indian roads in concern it is believed that the carmaker might reduce its power generation efficiency and enhance the torque. Well, whatever the final output will be, it is believed to miles ahead from its earlier generation that created the power of 105 bhp. On the other side, the diesel variant will be equipped with a 2.2-liter engine boosting the power of 140 bhp and mated with a six-speed manual gear transmission system. Earlier it was reported that the domestic carmaker is speculating to introduce the new 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine for the Thar 2020.
Moving inside the cabin, in its generation next avatar the 2020 Mahindra Thar will undergo lots of notable changes in form of redesigned dashboard, the new infotainment system that supports connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front-facing seats, front power windows, and the set of new safety features including dual front airbags, brake assist system, ABS+EBD, seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors and speed alert as a standard feature. On the exterior front it will receive new 18-inch alloy wheels, new Mahindra grille on the front fascia, new headlamps with LED DRLs, and square-shaped wheel arches.
