Volkswagen hikes the price of Polo and Vento under its hood
As reported earlier all major auto making companies will be hiking the prices of vehicles being manufactured under their flagship from 2014, and now it seems that they have now started making their announcements true. It is reported that Volkswagen India, the Indian division of European auto giant Volkswagen has announced to hike the price of its hatchback Polo and sedan Vento from February 2014. The hike in price on both these vehicles will be up to 2.7 percent.
Commenting on the decision of price hike, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Volkswagen group sales India said, the cost of production has constantly increased during past time and exchange rate of money has not improved. Although company has made serious efforts to control the cost of production, but with an objective of providing qualitative products to its esteemed customers, company is compelled to hike the price on both these models.
It would be interested to know that recently company has offered few interesting features as standard features in its existing Polo models which include airbags, anti lock braking system and few more. With this hike of 2.7 percent, now the base model of Polo will be offered with price tag of Rs. 5.20 lakh, whereas the Polo Vento will be offered with price tag of Rs. 7.58 lakh.
