Volkswagen Jetta 1.4L petrol version to launch in April 2012
Volkswagen Jetta, a popular premium sedan in the Indian market, will soon be having a new member in the family of its variants. The Indian unit of the German auto giant Volkswagen will be launching a petrol version of the Jetta sedan in the Indian market in April 2012.
The all new Jetta Petrol will come powered by a 1.4-litre TSI petrol power train which is capable of generating a maximum power of 120 bhp, which will be delivering a considerably high fuel economy as compared the other Volkswagen Group sedans like Skoda Laura and Skoda Superb. Both Laura and Superb model have been offered with a 1.8 TSI petrol engine in the Indian market, and market watchers had been speculating that the company will roll-out the same engine in the Jetta petrol version, but the firm has decided to give more fuel efficient 1.4-litre TSI engine to Jetta.

This is this first time when Volkswagen is bucking the trend of positioning its car above the portfolio models of its subsidiary Skoda Auto India. Now, as the 1.4 TSI Jetta petrol engine will be price more competitively and will be delivering a higher fuel economy, it will surely give a tough fight to its own group sibling Skoda Laura.
