Volkswagen Polo R WRC launched ahead of 2013 WRC

Volkswagen is getting ready to rock the 2013 World Rally Championship. For this the German car maker has launched a campaign. It has amassed sponsorship by Red Bull. On this occasion, VW also launched the Volkswagen Polo R WRC that has been specially designed for the WRC. The car maker also announced three teams for the upcoming sporting event. Notably, the WRC’s 41st season will be starting from January 15 with Rallye Monte Carlo. In order to counter the Polo R WRC, Ford has pitched in Fiesta RS WRC while Mini has brought in the John Cooper Works WRC. There will be over 13 rallies during the 2012 WRC season.

The event is one of the world greatest and the most sought after one for sports car event lovers. On the occasion of the Polo R WRC launch, a car that has been designed by Carlos Sainz who is the WRC winner for two times and is also the advisor to VW, was launched. The car maker has also announced its teams that comprises of Sebastien Ogier-Julien Ingrassia, Jari-Matti Latvala-Miika Anttila and Andreas Mikkelsen-Mikko Markkula. Notably, Volkswagen has set the three teams to freely compete with each other for the WRC winner title. As VW is new to the arena, it aims at some success while it targets a sure win in WRC 2014.

The Polo R WRC is a road car version of the sports car that VW uses in the rally. On the occasion, VW has also launched a new website that is dedicated to its motor sporting events. The new website will be showcasing all recent updates regarding the WRC as well as other sporting events in which VW takes part. Meanwhile, Red Bull energy drink maker is now the official sponsor of Volkswagen WRC after it has withdrew its sponsorship of Citroen.
