Volkswagen Touareg arrives at dealerships, launch close by

The Germans seems to have decided to stun the Indian car market. Where Mercedes Benz has launched the B Class Sports Tourer at an unbelievable price of Rs 21.49 lakh, Volkswagen India is all set to launch a new SUV – new Volkswagen Touareg. The new car by Volkswagen will be taking care of the SUV segment in the Rs 50 lakh to Rs 55 lakh price segment and at this price the car will be a close rival of Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Volvo XC90, Audi Q5 and BMW X5 most importantly. The car maker has started supplying the SUV to its dealers so that it can be delivered to the car buyers once it is launched here.

Already unveiled and showcased to the people of India at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi in January this year, the SUV launch seems to have been delayed due to unknown reasons. It could be the slack demand of car recently or it may be due to the lack of clarity or indecision regarding the fate of the VW SUV in the country. As per the media reports, the new Touareg is all set to be launched and VW has already posed pictures and details on its website. The 245 PS car has a mammoth 550 Nm torque and an eight speed automatic gearbox will be taking care of the power delivery to the wheels. Poised on 18 inch alloy wheels that are branded by "Karakum", the SUV has a full panoramic roof with roof rails making it an SUV of desire. LED daytime running lights and Bi-Xenon headlamps along with washer system are some of the features that are must see on the outside.

On the inside, the Touareg has ‘Vienna’ leather upholstery, and multi function display that eases the drive and keeps the driver informed about the stats of the car. A monocoque body design makes it practically indestructible and an array of airbags and crumple zones keep the occupants safe. Apart from this there are lots of safety and other features that will make the VW SUV a strong competitor of its rivals. The car will be sold in India once it is launched here and the Touareg launch is nearby.
