Volkswagen used car business begins from Mumbai
German car brand Volkswagen that literally gives a touch of luxury to the segment in which it offers its cars, has forayed in the used car segment. The car maker will now be selling multi brand pre-owned cars at its used car chain known as Das WeltAuto. It is at these dealerships that it will be selling Volkswagen cars including Volkswagen Vento, Volkswagen Polo and even other cars from other brands such as Maruti, Tata, Mahindra, Skoda, BMW and others. It is believed that the new venture will be helping the car maker get some good response and as per the initial forecasts, the Das WeltAuto will be able to contribute 25 percent to the total car sales by VW. The used car business of the company has started from Mumbai today.

In India, the used car segment is bulging day by day and more and more car giants are entering into this business. Maruti the market leader is already there with the Maruti True Value, Mahindra is there with Mahindra First Choice and Tata has its presence by the name Tata Assured. As per market analysts, the used car business is getting fat and fatter day by day and it is believed to grow by leaps and bounds in the coming years. At present, Mahindra is the leader in this business with Rs 60,000 crore business. Besides, there is the unorganized sector and smaller players that are also there. But the rate at which there are being merged with used car brands is very high and soon the industry will be mostly organized and operated by big players.
