VW mulls over a low cost car, India launch plans after China
The Volkswagen Polo and VW Vento may have done exceptional good to the car maker but only a small car that is most affordable can lead the German car giant to attain its goal. There were unconfirmed reports that VW mulls over Volkswagen Up! for India but there was no such movement as such. Now, it is almost final that the car maker is thinking of a car for the Chinese market and this car is believed to come to India thereafter. The car will be in the price range of Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh and this will be the most affordable car by VW that will help it gain huge numbers.
Initial reports have nothing to disclose regarding the engine and other specifications but it is believed that it will be a low cost replica of the Up! small car. In addition to this, the car will have minimum features but will retain the overall German luxury feeling. The car is expected to arrive not before 2015. It will have a different name than Up! and as per sources information, the car maker will also be having great difficulty in coming up with a car that will cost much below Rs 4.5 lakh.
As per more information about the upcoming VW small car, it will have such specifications that the car buyers will be proud of it. It will have an options to upgrade as well. Thus those who wish to have extra features in the car can have them easily. While those who want it as is will have basic features. The car will first head to China and then it will be coming to India with slight changes and probably a diesel engine under the hood. In addition to this, VW will be assembling it in India so as to keep the price to a bare minimum.
