2022 Maruti Suzuki EECO Offers 25% More Fuel Efficiency
The country’s leading carmaker the Indo-Japanese carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the updated version of its best-selling MPV EECO in the Indian car market with starting price of Rs 5.10 lakh (ex-showroom price). The 2022 Maruti Suzuki EECO undergoes both mechanical and cosmetic changes. In its new avatar, it will be sold in both petrol and CNG variants and 13 variants including five-seater and seven-seater configurations.
Addressing the launch event of the new Maruti EECO, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Since its launch, the Eeco has been a preferred and proud choice for over 9.75 lakh owners in the past decade and enjoys an undisputed leadership with 93% market share in its segment. Being a part of families and having provided livelihood to lakhs of entrepreneurs and businessmen, the New Eeco will continue to be a reliable and efficient vehicle”.
Under the hood, it will receive a new 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine boosting the power of 80.76 PS @6,000 rpm and a torque of 104.4 Nm @ 3,000 rpm. This engine also powers Dzire, Baleno, Swift and under cars under the MSIL flagship. The CNG version will generate a power of 71,65 PS and a torque of 95 Nm. According to the company sources, the petrol variant will deliver an average of 202.0 kmpl, whereas the CNG will offer an average of 27.05 km/kg.
Speaking about features, the next generation of EECO comes equipped with reclining front seats, a dome lamp followed by battery-saving functionality, a cabin air filter (in trims with an air conditioner feature), a new steering wheel, rotary controls for air conditioner and heater, a new digital instrument and a few more. On the safety front, it has an engine immobiliser, reverse parking sensors, ABS+EBD, an illuminated hazard switch, a child lock for sliding doors and windows, etc.
