Maruti Suzuki Eeco diesel speculated to be a smashing hit
Maruti Suzuki Eeco has been one of the best performing vehicles in commercial vehicles segment by country’s leading car manufacturing company MSIL. Inspired from the expected success enjoyed by both petrol and CNG variants of vehicle it was reported that the car maker is going to soon bring the diesel variant of Eeco in Indian car market. Prior to this in the beginning of this year it was reported that the car maker is going to configure high performing diesel engines to its recently launched hatchback Celerio and Eeco. However later it was said that the company is going to develop its self developed 800 cc diesel engine for its van Eeco. Although before installing the same engine in Eeco company will introduce the same in its proposed LCV codenamed Y9T and Celerio this year.

The on-going version of Eeco is empowered with 1196 aluminum engine developing the power of 73 bhp at 6000 rpm and torque of 101 Nm at 3000 rpm. It is speculated that the upcoming diesel variant will be enriched with 800 cc engine. The existing petrol variant is offered with seating option of five and seven passengers. With price tag from Rs. 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom price in Mumbai) Eeco is offered with various remarkable features including huge boot space of 540 litres. It bestows various safety features including side impact bars, energy absorbing materials, crumple zones and high seating position.
