9000 units of Micra and Sunny to be recalled by Nissan Motors

It is reported that Japanese car maker Nissan Motors is going to recall 9000 units of its compact car Micra and Sunny due to faulty airbags. According to sources of company this recall is part of company’s global recall in which around 2,60,000 units of different products of Nissan namely MIcra, Sunny, Versa, Cube, Almera and Patrol would be recalled throughout the world. According to sources of company in India car maker is going to inform the owners of faulty units for getting the airbags of their cars replaced by Nissan dealers without paying any cost for new airbags. The company source also said that car maker is determined to offer superior quality of after sales services to its respected customers.

The units of Micra and Sunny that would be recalled by car maker were manufactured during 2008 to 2012. It would be interested to know that since the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has initiated the policy of voluntary recall of vehicles due to safety measures almost 700,000 different vehicles have been recalled by major car manufacturing companies like Toyota Motors, Ford, General  Motors, Honda, Maruti Suzuki, and M&M. Even last month also country’s leading car manufacturing company MSIL had recalled 69,555 units of Swift, Dzire and Ritz manufactured during March 2010 to August 2013. These units had problem in wiring which might cause short circuit fire in car. It would be interested to know that government of India is planning to reframe the mandatory recall policy punishing companies under new Central Motor Vehicle Rules imposing penalties on companies for not paying proper attention while manufacturing the vehicles.
